Phoenix Squirrels at 6th Lichfield Scouts
Small but mighty — let the adventure begin!
Taking those first steps, making friends and discovering new things.
Squirrels is the youngest section of the Scout Movement, for children aged 4–6. It’s their first step into Scouting, packed with fun, exciting activities, new experiences and new friends.
We meet on Mondays, 16:15–17:15.
Our Squirrel Drey is part of the adventure at 6th Lichfield, helping little ones discover the world around them, build confidence and learn new skills through play.
What do Squirrels get up to?
Every week brings something new! Our Squirrels run, play, sing, explore and get stuck into all sorts of adventures — often getting their hands messy along the way.
From crafts, games and local visits to cooking, teamwork, fire lighting and basic first aid, they learn to become more independent, try new things and have a brilliant time together.

Our friendly team of trained volunteers plan and run our weekly sessions, keeping everyone safe, happy and included. They bring their own skills and enthusiasm to every adventure — and each has a special Scout name for you to discover when you join!

Hey I'm Bobbie, I have been a leader within scouting for 25 years. I love being outdoors, whether it be sailing, kayaking, climbing, den building, bug hunting or gardening it matters not, they all make me happy.

Badges and Awards
Every new challenge is a chance to learn something, grow in confidence and earn a badge. Squirrels can work towards lots of activity badges. Squirrels love getting their badges!! Complete all four challenge badges to earn the Chief Scout’s Acorn, the highest award in Squirrels.
Squirrel Scout Uniform
Once your child has settled in and started earning badges, they’ll need their Squirrel Scout uniform to show them off! Our famous red and white group neckerchief is worn with pride across 6th Lichfield by our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and leaders.
